2006 Ice Racing Results
Dec. 18th: Practice Day. Miki was feeling a little under the weather today so she made an executive decision to stay home and get better and keep her studies up. That is why we were not there, not because of a weight rule. Miki is looking forward to this season and can not wait to get on the ice. The ice on the lake was ok and they did have karts there practicing.
Dec. 31st: Miki will not be at this race due to family circumstances. Being a night race and non points race, Miki has taken time off here to be with out of town family. Sorry to dissappoint sponsors and fans, Miki will be ready to WIN on Jan 8th. See you all there.
Jan. 8th: Well, we were able to finally get out on the ice today. Rick and Gary had to tote all the karts and equipment to ice for everyone, but we made our start to the season. Miki had a great day. She had a 4th place finish in her first heat and two 3rd place finishes in her two feature races. Miki had a few jitters due to the season she had last year but seemed to overcome these really well. She is now back into the swing of things and can not wait till next week. See you all then.
Jan 15th: We should of just stayed home. Miki was feeling ill and it showed in races today. Miki did not do so well today. She had two 5th place finishes and a 4th place. But is ready to giver on Saturday. It is our first night race.
Jan 21st: Man, what a night. The track was really well lit, and the races amazingly fast(once they got started). Miki made a shoe change, she now wears her summer racing shoes and can feel the gas pedal alot better. She went out for practice and was just flying. There was no lifting in the corner and when that right tire grabbed she was gone. Miki came home with two 4th place finishes for the night. On her last race she must of pushed so hard she broke her gas pedal. Just Kidding, it did fall off the pedal riser though. Right after the white flag flew she was stranded on the back stretch so Brent Lindstrom stopped and pushed her to the checkered flag. Miki went over to thank Brent and he told her "you will not believe the razzing I get when you beat me". He is a great guy though. Miki has to learn the Earnhardt trade secret(what ever it takes to win). Well that's all for now. See you next Sunday.
Jan 29th : cancelled
Feb 5th: Well we raced, just not at Menomonie. We had it on Bone Lake. Boy was the competition stiff. All but 2 guys out there with Miki race on the dirt in adult classes. Miki faired pretty well. In her second race coming into turn 1 and 2 found Miki 3 wide with her in the middle, no one budged until turn 4 where Miki got pinched out of her spot and then went on to catch the guy in front of her. Pretty exciting for her, Hair-raising for Mom. She came home with a few minor repairs needed....Body work, graphic savers, and a few other things.. ha ha ha, just another day of racing. Next sunday is the 25 lap race. Come watch these guys and gal compete to see who's engine will make the grade and last all 25 laps. See you there.
Feb. 12th: What a day this was. No track maintanence so it was really rough, i mean rough. These poor guys and gal were tossed around worse than a food processor. Miki had a last place finish today due to track and mechanical difficulties. But her and brent were looking to fight it out for last place Just kidding brent, nice driving today. Miki and Brent were lapped by stock karts. Miki would like to thank all that helped today: Lil' Gary, Travis, Brent, Jerry, Rick, Cliff and the rest trying to figure out what was wrong. Gary lent Miki a clutch, Cliff lent Miki a gear and Keystock, and all of the others offered support in some way or another. The Moral support is great for her also. Jerry in the Mod class decided it was funner to run upside down for a turn( just kiddin Jerry, hope you are feeling better). This weekend is a saturday night race. Button up guys this one could be COLD!!!!!. See you all there.
Feb 18th: Miki missed this night race due to being sick and it was COLD!!!! Not to much else to say. Til next week.
Feb 26th: Well, what do I say about today. Rick, Gary, and Travis really had that track in good shape. Miki just could not get a grip on it. Turn 2 was her favorite spot today, to spin around a million times. Miki just waits for the rest to go around her then whips a (you know what) and then like the little racer she is keeps going. The 2nd race Miki spun like 5 times in the 10 laps so she showed some real smarts and decided to pull off instead of causing any accidents. On the 3rd race her and brent had the front line and were doing really well until that dang turn 2. No, she didn't spin but she did let off a touch in case she did. Maybe next week will be better. Miki says to leave the snow on the track guys...LOL. See you all next week. Thanks for all the help guys we really appreciated it. Also, Thanks for the great racing surface, you guys worked really hard to provide all of us with a wonderfully fast track to run on. til next week.
Season Summary: Miki had a great engine just a loose kart. It shows how seat time improves ability. Miki handled a loose kart all season and still put on a great show with Big Boys. We may have not finished in the top 5 this year, but Miki still had a good time running against the adults. She is some tropper, just plugs along and does her best with what us as parents can give her. Then you get guys like Gary, Travis, Rick, Cliff, and the rest to help out and get Miki where she needs to be and Mother Nature says we are all done. The last race day, Travis helped set up her kart and showed her where to run and she came off the track and said" I never had that much fun running that fast". Thanks for everything guys, it is much appreciated.
See you all next Season. Stay tuned for information on the upcoming ice season.
