May 17th: Well we are off to another racing season. Miki started her year at Thunderhill Speedway in Menomonie this weekend. What a day it did become, with the rain and wind we thought all was lost when we get to the track with Severe weather warnings coming across the radio. But, it did happen, I mean we actually got to race tonight. Miki did a terrific job. She started her season off with a bang. First heat Miki took a 3rd, second heat Miki came in 2nd, and her feature Miki made it a 3rd place finish. Not to bad for her first night out in Junior 2, all the rain wait and then to come home with a trophy. I think it turned out pretty productive.

May 24th: Not a good night. Miki's kart would just not handle at all. First we though driver but no it was just not set up for her. But she did come home with a 4th place anyways.

May 31st and June 1st: Ok, where do we begin. It was the first Region 3 race, First time out with her animal engine and what a learning curve it was. After numerous attempts to figure out her kart and how to lift and brake, Mikayla did a fantastic job. We were all ready for the features and Miki was starting 5th, but down came the rain and the rules state that where you line up you finish in a rain out. Ok, next day and it was a dandy. Miki figured out her kart and new engine and was doing excellent. Miki had a 3rd and then engine trouble. Ready for the feature, Miki was in the mix of all the karts and running hot. Then the storm, a lap kart spun waited for the karts to come around, Miki caught him out of the corner of her eye and he was headed right for her on the bottom of the track. KABOOM he pulled right in front of and no more front nose, dizzy, and a couple of bruised ribs but able to walk away. Not a smart move, not just a racing thing it was believed to intentional due to comments made off the track. On to next week.

June 7th: Thunderhill, the weather looked crappy and it was. Rain, rain and more rain. But they worked in the track, a little muddy, but fast. Not a bad finish either, except a couple of new racers that were not used to the speed. A veteran driver that put himself in the wrong place and Miki held her line, was very competitive until this veteran driver didn't care to be beat by a girl, so he took her and another kart out. Miki had the bottom line, he was out on top 3 wide and dove down. But ok finish for a 5th.

June 13th: we will be off this weekend. On to next week. see you all then.

June and July: Took most of it off. Family and friends had things going on, got a black eye and slight concussion during one weekend off. Had some time to be a kid and now back to the schedule of racing.

July 19 and 20: BRRP, Glyndon, Mn. Wow, what a trip. It was a long drive so we left on Friday night, got rained out on Saturday, raced on Sunday. OMG, what a track, FAST< FAST< FAST. It was great. I had an ok day, took awhile to learn the track, where I needed to let off and get back on, sometimes slower in corner is faster, mom made a great choice for tires and off I went for the feature. I had a top 3 kart only to get spun out by a kart that ran over the disks, and they made me keep going. Oh, well sometimes the calls go your way sometimes they don't. Today wasn't my day for calls. On to Thunderhill this saturday. Let's see where I can finish this week. I will be off on July 31st to go the the Nationals at Cedar Lake Speedway. See You all after that.
